The PauseAI movement and broader coalition is growing around the world, and especially quickly in the US now, where there are now 35 local groups. Most people don't want the future the AI companies are trying to force on us, especially when it comes to developing AI that is designed to replace humans, or is capable enough to supplant us of its own accord.

There's a protest this Saturday in San Francisco: https://luma.com/s0k8wvee and a protest on April 13 in DC: https://luma.com/jogj70dj?tk=vH7CHU

This is great! Why can't we get this kind of movement together here? I'd love to see that happen. I do think people here were paying more attention the Anthropic/OpenAI debacle and I think it has spurred some movement, but we have a long ways to go.

Hopefully more and more people become as decided and proactive as you seem to be

I’m a member of the Boise chapter of PauseAI! It’s been frustrating at times to see some of the blatant apathy on display from some people, but it’s also made me hopeful to see how many people are just as frustrated and disappointed with the consistent inaction/finally willing to take action themselves.

Looking forward to getting a similar size protest going here in Australia. Well done London organisers

I was there and can confirm it was a great protest! The public was interested. Anyone else suprised by how well UK is doing with taking this seriously compared to the US?
