There's a lot of info here, but what stands out to me is the CEOs trying to slow AI down. Because they know everyone hates it? People don't care about more access to AI tools. They just want them to go away.

I see it as a mixture of concern about the economy - job losses etc. and concern about recursive self-improvement leading to AGI.

But then perhaps I'm being overly sympathetic to them.

"No discernable impact on labor"? Because the Tech world does not count creative labor. They dismiss us out of hand. We're just here for them to expoit. And politicians aren't any different. Many many careers have ended or been curtailed by AI - including mine.
